Octogenarian

I see the hat thing runs in the family! And you having mentioned elsewhere that there is a resemblance, one could well imagine this to be a young Editor.

Was there a cake? My Granny Kelly turned eighty a few summers back during a heatwave and had her party in my folks' back garden. My Dad lit all eighty candles on the cake, took the cake outside and after an enormous whoosh of flame all the candles were gone and most of the cake had melted...

A party which, for reasons I can't even begin to comprehend, isn't being held until the last Sunday in August.

I can report, however, that the birthday boy had a lovely day visiting the tall ships.
